Insolvency Practitioners – Updating an Existing RP14A

15 Nov, 2019

Following the system upgrades at the Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) in March 2019, Insolvency Practitioners were asked to provide any updates to information on previously submitted RP14A’s by email, however RPS have recently advised that this is no longer the case.

Where information on an existing claim has changed or needs to be corrected by the Insolvency Practitioner, a new RP14A must be submitted.

RPS have issued the following guidance:

  • When updating the RPS with information on a new RP14A for a claimant whom you have previously submitted an RP14A, you MUST include all information previously supplied.
  • If the information has previously been supplied, but has changed, please provide ALL information again, with the new data overwriting the old.
  • For example – An end date was provided with all the other information on an RP14A. You now need to inform us of a new end date. When providing us with the updated RP14A, provide ALL data again, inclusive of the new end date.
  • If you only provide an updated RP14A containing solely the new / updated information, leaving all other data fields blank, it will overwrite the previously submitted information with ‘blank’ information, effectively removing that information.
  • If the information has not previously been supplied and you are providing it to us for the first time, please provide ALL information again, with the new data.
  • For example – an RP14A was provided with all information apart from details of Arrears of Pay owed to the claimant.
  • You now need to inform us of the Arrears of Pay owed to the claimant. When providing us with the updated RP14A, provide ALL data again, inclusive of the new data detailing the Arrears of Pay owed.
  • If you only provide an updated RP14A containing solely the new / updated information, leaving all other data fields blank, it will overwrite the previously submitted information with ‘blank’, effectively removing that information.

Further information can be obtained from RPS.

Kind Regards
